Welcome to Silver Assets New Mexico and Colorado Silver Assets offers fine sterling jewelry in both contemporary and Native American designs. Its roots began in 1989 when Ken Dahlstrom and wife Lori decided to move away from Gallup to Mesilla New Mexico. Ken had been in wholesale. He had worked with several goldsmiths and silversmiths in the jewelry trade and picked up some silversmithing skills from them along the way. He had also managed a Western trading post in Gallup. Lori too had been working in both wholesale and retail. With their combined experience, they started Silver Assets in old historical Mesilla, next to Las Cruces in southern New Mexico. Son Jason was sixteen years old then, helping at the store in his spare time and learning the tools of the jewelry trade from his parents. Jason has always dreamed of opening his own shop some day. In 2005, Jason and wife Sharon opened the second Silver Assets store in Fort Collins Colorado. Some common lines of jewelry in both Silver Assets stores include fine quality Native American inlay jewelry, turquoise jewelry set in the traditional old style sandcast designs, and other traditional stones like lapis, onyx, coral and quality stamped silver jewelry. Both stores also carry contemporary pieces in sterling silver as well as pieces set in gemstones like topaz, garnet, amethyst and peridot. This website is intended to give you a flavor of some of the jewelry available at Silver Assets. Not every design is available online. If you see something that interests you, or if you are interested in something else that we may carry, please call or email us with your questions. LATEST !!!
